.. Meh.
I've played better games. I like the idea of the hyper dash, and it's challenging. I would have added left and right controls though. There were some jumps that were plain impossible without it. Nice try though! :)

A wonderful effort!
My only complaints were not being able to restart from where you were when you hit the main menu button. I thought there'd be a level select and a way to see if you got the golden acorns or not [there was one instance where I was unsure]
Otherwise, I love these run-and-dash type games, and you did a great job on this one. :)
Perfectly flawed
I love these types of shooters. Bullet hell, over the top, with wild firepower. However, there are a lot of things that made this game subpar, compared to others in this genre.
1 - The massive Hit Box. Most bird's eye shooters have a ship with a hit box of a few pixels, not the entire ship. And with a ship as large as this one, it gets to be extremely difficult to avoid anything. Maybe if the ship started out large, but you could upgrade and get more compact ships?
2 - Lack of invincibility after being hit. It's annoying getting caught in a barrage of missile, all of which chain and hit at the same time and annihalate your health, even with maximum durability and a temporary shield.
3. The currency disappearing too quickly. Especially combined with the first two issues I mentioned, it made grabbing any money nearly impossible in later levels.
4. I found a major glitch. The Worm Strike attack can hit your own ship. I've died by it a few times already.
It's a great game and concept, but those flaws make things a lot tougher than they need to be. I would definitely play a sequel! Keep up the good work and you'll get a 10 from me. :)
Demands a console release!
Every last bit of this game was extremely enjoyable. The autosaving was very nice, the boss battles tough. I would have liked to have been able to buy armor and weapons, and for each character to have different skill trees and such.
But that can all be fixed with a sequel. ;)
Ragequitting never felt so good
I give the game a lot of kudos for its difficulty - but with how little money you earn and how expensive the upgrades are, it just becomes way too much sometimes.
Repetetive music and gameplay, horrid graphics..
BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERS BECAUSE THIS IS BILL EFFING MURRAY FIRING MISSILES AT GROUNDHOGS AND GARFIELD.
Not the best game around, but.. it's great for a laugh. Tallahassee would be proud.
Turtle Soup
The Contra intro was genius! I love games like these for some reason - it's addictive, done well in every way, and.. MEDALS.
Awesome in every way!
Addictive gameplay, funny graphics and sounds, and I love the death sequences. I only have a few minor problems with the game - First off, I can't seem to get the 'every small enemy' medal done - Maybe I haven't gone high enough [my best so far is just a scratch under 6000ft.] but I just can't seem to find what I'm missing. Second - grinding for 20k skulls got real repetetive, real fast.
Otherwise - completely awesome game. One of the few I've added to my favorites. :)
Top Notch!
It reminds me of something you could play on the NES - The graphics, the music, and the sprites. Everything. I love the little minigames in between capturing prey. :)
Beautiful in every way.
The story.. I don't know. You just grow a spot in your heart for the little guy, who's
just trying to please his wicked mother
I love the graphics and the security-cam type look to it, though the screen did zoom out quite a bit in larger areas and made it a bit hard to see. The gameplay was smooth as silk, and the music fit perfectly.
The end though.. the end was incredible. It had my heart racing, and I finished with seconds to spare. Great game, definitely! Now to find those missing tiles so I can [hopefully] get that last medal.
I say this deserves a sequel!
