I love it, plain and simple. It's only got one flaw in my eyes - the lack of being able to control how high you jump. Especially on the downward moving levels, jumping for a coin and accidentally trapping yourself on the platform above.

Aside from that, this is a really charming, really addictive game. Keep up the awesome work!

It's honestly just too plain. It starts out hectic with no increasing difficulty, and the one-shot-at-a-time, while relevant to the Atari-style you were going for, is pretty irritating.

I think it could be greatly improved with upgrades, and a difficulty scale, starting off with an enemy here or there, rather than suddenly throwing 12 enemies at you at once the exact moment you hit space to start.

I like it, but it could improve in a lot of ways! Keep up the good work, definitely, and throw a quality, old-school-style shmup in the future! I love the graphic style and the music and I'd like to see where you can go with it.

Brilliant. Just.. brilliant. My only complains is the Trickers Mode medal. I can't seem to figure that one out.

I love this though! GIVE THAT YOSHI SACRIFICING BASTARD WHAT HE DESERVES

A/5

Haha, thanks!

That last medal is a bit of an in-joke. For a hint, do a web search for the phrase "accessing trickster mode". ;)

Immediately, I came across a nasty bug - the head went to the top of the screen and the computer's paddle followed it, and the head got stuck in the paddle - this happened multiple times.

It's an interesting rendition of Pong, and, aside form the bug, it could be really enjoyable. I think we'd like to see a little more content though - maybe you could select a head from a number of choices (maybe pay an homage to your favorite Newgrounds characters, with permission of course, by putting their heads in your game) or something like that.

I'll give you three stars because I would like to keep it around, but for your next title, just take a chance! Maybe make a rendition of an old game you love and put your own spin, not on just the image, but also the actual gameplay itself. That would be real neat.

Thanks, I will try and fix that bug. Expect an update late tonight or early tomorrow.

I have to agree completely with TheFalzarBeast, but I'm willing to give it a slightly higher score just based on the storyline alone. It's nice seeing the princess as the villain, rather than a villain as a villain, if you get what I mean.

One thing that frustrated me endlessly was trying to put traps near each other, and either repairing a similar trap or, even worse, breaking a nonsimilar one.

I do say this - make a sequel, and don't make the traps predetermined. While, of course, maybe adding more traps and changing how you place/repair them.

I think if Mario and Luigi saw this, they'd have a fit. All of these mushrooms could go to them and bestow upon them various powerups and extra lives!

Real talk - this game's pretty dang fun. I know the point is to be attacked by mushrooms and all, but some enemy variety would have been cool, like maybe bonus enemies, akin to the UFOs in Space Invaders or something - nothing really threatening, but tough to hit, and if you do, you get a good bonus.

Simple, yet addicting. I loved how you made certain bosses operate - Phantom of the OPERA was really damn clever.

It certainly looks like it was thrown together in three days, but that only adds to the charm. I love it, and it's going in my favorites!

I'm in love with this game. The music is just phenomenal, it really puts me in the gaming spirit. The graphics, gameplay, just.. everything.

I truly applaud you.

A few choice words for this one.

I like to try to start a review with a strong compliment.. however, I'm really unable to find anything good to say about this game. The graphics, though simple and cliche, are about the only redeeming quality of this game. The overhead shmup is one of my favorite genres, and it was torn apart by this lackluster effort.

- There were no instructions, at all. I would like to know things like.. what does changing color do? How does i affect enemies with similar colors? Why does my combo randomly die, though I haven't missed an enemy?

- The +2o second upgrade is bugged. I always got ten seconds. Which would be fine, if it told the truth.

- The color changing takes far too long, especially in the clusterfucked later areas when you're getting all three colors coming at you at once. At least make an upgrade for faster color changing or something.

- Instructions and details on how being hit, color changing, time, and such all work would be fabulous.

- The music, personally, doesn't do it for me.

- It goes far too slow to warrant trying to get all the kill necessary for all of the medals.

Not every game has to be easy to be fun.

This game is a beautiful example of not only a very, VERY quality game, but it's also proof that, just because a game can get insanely difficult [Especially at 3-4.. geezus] doesn't mean it can't be fun.

The graphics are nothing short of beautiful. The gameplay is hectic and addictive, and I love all of the powers and secret characters you find [I lol'd at Guile, no lie], and there's a ton to do with the level customizer.

I've read numerous complaints about how the mouse works, and I find that they're completely wrong. It does follow the cursor to a T, as it should. The difficulty, as stated, is perfect for a game of this calibur. Not every game should be easy and beatable. Challenge is great, and it's sad to see so many people shoo the idea of a challenge like they would a fly or a moth.

Keep up the good work! I look forward to more games from you.

Maybe something like this but.. Metroid related? It seems like it would be a good franchise to spoof in a game like this. I'm not sure why.

Drawing and gaming are things I do a lot
